Sputtered Films

Flexvue films are the most dependable in the industry, helping to ensure that critical devices work the first time, every time. Our proprietary coatings also allow optimal light transmission while guarding against glare in products like video dashboards, providing easier readability, day or night.

Sputtering Technology to Meet Your Unique Needs

Flexvue™ films use the industry's most advanced sputter technology to coat a variety of flexible surfaces with virtually any metal, alloy or oxide. Unlike conventional metallizing processes, sputter coating does not require high temperatures and can be applied to a greater variety of materials, such as polyester (PET), polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), Cellulose Tri Acetate (TAC) and Cyclo Olefin Polymer as well as Kapton® and Ultem®, enabling us to meet our customers' specific performance requirements.

Advanced applications using Flexvue films sputter coating technology include printed circuits, membrane switches, digital proofing and solar control films. Our sputter coating process is available on film thicknesses ranging from 48 to 1,000 gauge, or 12 to 250 microns. A state-of-the art, clean room manufacturing plant and strict quality controls enables us to provide the highest levels of consistency for a wide range of performance properties including:

  • coating thickness, 5 to 3,000 angstroms
  • light transmission from 94% VLT to opaque
  • optical density from 0.023 to 4.0
  • resistivity 0.03 to 2,000 ohms per square

The team at Flexvue films works directly with our customers to assess needs and provide the appropriate solution for specific applications. Our wide array of sputter coating product materials includes titanium, aluminum, gold, copper, silver, zirconium and other metals; stainless steel, nichrome, inconel and other alloys, as well as tin oxide, indium tin oxide (ITO), indium oxide, silicone dioxide and others.
